The best of intentions but the wrong clothing.

Pauline and I headed over to Le Grand Pressigny on Saturday morning to participate in the walk for 'Octobre Rose'. We went under the cover of my large golfing umbrella to combat the inclement weather. After visiting some of the stalls and signing up for the 6 km walk the weather had improved somewhat and the brolly became more of a hindrance with the wind so I decided to return it to the car and don a cap for protection. Big mistake, no sooner had I returned when we were hit by a deluge that soaked me through my inappropriate clothing.

We decided to to walk anyway but as the rain continued we called a halt as we plodded along Grande Rue. We consoled ourselves with the fact we had made a commitment of sorts and had donated to the very worthwhile cause. 

As Billy Connolly once wisely said  "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.”
