Angles-sur-l'Anglin...picture perfect!

As one of the genuine 'most beautiful villages of France' (Plus beaux villages de France) Angles-sur-l'Anglin must surely also be one of the most photographed,I know I've taken hundreds, here's a favourite of mine...

A walk around...Montresor

With this lovely 'Spring' weather, we are getting out and about again and armed with our 'Randonnees en Touraine du Sud' pack we plan to try out most of the surrounding village walks - in some form or other. I have a couple to post, in the meantime have a look at one from last summer...

The Loire Valley is blessed with many beautiful villages. One of the favourites of our's and many visitors is the village of Montresor which has the added attraction of a 'lived in' chateau to visit. It is another village listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France ('Plus beaux villages de France') and certainly one of the prettiest in the Loire Valley. Some of the villages listed under this banner do not in our opinion live up to the title...more on this later..but Montresor does!

Last summer we did one of our 'walks around' here with friends.
This is a shot that almost every visitor takes - I'm no different!

Second summer?

Pauline and I had to visit Angles sur l'Anglin today, which is south of us just into the neighbouring department of Vienne, one of our favourite villages. It is listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France ('Plus beaux villages de France') and rightly so.I must have taken hundreds of photographs here but never tire of it as subject matter. Below is one I took today  - with a temperature of 29 degrees it's hard to believe we are approaching the end of of September - and this shows the village at its best.
