Back to brocanting...

Sunday saw us joining friends Mike & Liz to kick start what for a long time has been missing here in our part of the world - brocante visits.

We took in the small brocante at Beaumont before heading over to Chatellerault to the large 'Brocante des Trois Pigeons'. Which is a mix of local people's and dealer's 'treasure'.

As many will know Pauline and I are trying to downsize our 'stuff' but for my brocante fix I bought a couple of small glitter balls - and why not?

Monday's walk among the tournesols at Cussay.

For Monday's walk Fabrice took us over to Cussay and in among the sunflowers behind the village. It is always a joy to see these symbols of summer in Touraine.

Wednesday is for windows...change of use!

This window here at the chateau was the former entrance, complete with drawbridge.

Yet another walk in the woods...

Monday the 20th's short walk, led by Fabrice, had us back up in the woods behind La Guerche, at 'La Rond du Chene', always a good choice.
I waited by the giant woodpile for Chris and Sally who had gone back for jackets that thankfully would not be needed as it stayed fine.

Just as we were finishing the walk we caught sight of a lone walker coming along one of the many tracks - it was fellow walker Laura who had arrived late and was unsure of what route (there are many) we had taken!

Wednesday for windows - Loches dunjon.

Windows in the dunjon at Loches - if only they could talk?

Vendredi et une vue - Lac d'Eguzon

Our region, like France itself, is rich in its diversity, showcasing an incredible variety of parks, estates, gardens and nature reserves  including three regional natural parks, Brenne, Loire-Anjou and Perche. Our 'view' today is of Lac d'Éguzon in La brenne.

Thursday's taken in Touraine and a search for shade...

If you are ok with leaving the house today you could do worse than heading over to the tranquil gardens of Chateau de l'Islette in Azay-le-Rideau and taking in the surroundings.

Or you could choose to stay in your shady courtyard...
or find a spot by one of the region's rivers, whatever you choose stay safe and as cool as you can.

Monday's chateau and an ideal spot for an apéro...

We sat and had an apéro in our friend Rodger's garden in Le Grand Pressigny last night where he has created a number of spots to catch the sun at different times of the day plus great views of the chateau.
