Up and down the river...
Yesterday Pauline and I walked over to Barrou to join Norman and Margaret and Dennis and Angela for lunch at the restaurant. After lunch D&A dropped us off in Mairé to allow us to walk the new river walk back to Le Petite Guerche, having previously done it the other way. This would ultimately make the total walking distance for the day 9.2 km.
The views up and down the river.
On the walk you can see the work that the commune have done to make it safer and accessible.
There is a pile of timber awaiting the transformation into a viewing platform that looks down the river for a view of the chateau at La Guerche in the distance.
The bridge to La Guerche and the view up the river from there.

A new walk...part II
As promised photos from Thursday's walk along the banks of the Creuse.
Looking back at the chateau.
The little beach.
Occasionally we would come up from the bank for short spells.
The young and the old.
Old things often just need a hug.
Chose the road rather than retracing our steps back.
Not many spots where you could catch a glimpse of where we had just been, this was a rare view over the yet to be harvested tournesols.
Back to our starting point then over the bridge and home.
