A bench for Sunday...

Last Sunday Jim & Francis,Rose's mum and dad, invited us for a lovely lunch, up to their home in Comrie, a village in the southern Highlands of Scotland, in the district of Perth and Kinross. It sits 7 miles west of Crieff and is a pretty historic conservation village in a scenic area along the River Earn. Their pretty garden leads down to the river and features this wonderful driftwood bench.*

The bench is very similar to one I recently featured on my Paris blog.

*Jim also has a four seat bench set from the first seating featured in Hamden Park.

Mon banc dominical / My Sunday Bench - Chatellerault.

This bench by Joël Ducorroy is one of nine that can be found along a walk on the site (Le Manu) of the former arms factory in Chatellerault, local and international artists contributed to the creation of each one. Its nine plaques borrow words from the worlds of automobiles and manufacturing, quietly echoing the site. Placed beside a parking area (empty today), it nods to license plates and an obvious connection to the Grand Atelier and its collection of iconic vehicles.
