This week will be different...

Last week we had a few pleasant distractions away from 'the project' and although Monday's walk was cancelled due to bad weather the week improved rather nicely allowing us to have a lovely alfresco  lunch with friends in Chaumussay on Wednesday.

The lunch took on an additional 'flavour' when just as the cheese was coming out an enterprising young man knocked on the door selling his wine selection. Now we do not know how he knew we were there but after giving us a tour both geographically and by the glass  he ended up with a nice little order as we were all impressed by his wines and presentation. The fact that we were in a lovely 'relaxed' mood probably made it a little easier for him 🍷!

It was into a different garden on Thursday evening where Dominique and I tried out some new songs on a group of friends before including them (the songs) in our up and coming appearance at the 'Fête de la Musique' (21st June) event at Le Petit-Pressigny.

With Pauline away helping (at last) Eileen move into her new house it will be back to head down and getting on with more work here at La Guerche.

That's where the music takes me...

Was invited to join some friends for a good night in good company with some fine musicians down in Poitiers on Wednesday night, oh and I was allowed a song or two which I appreciated.

Took these shots of the city as we headed back to the car.

Thursday's 'taken in Touraine'...

A full day...calm before the storm!

Yesterday we walked around our first brocante in a very long time in the nearby village of Chambon, though nothing tempted us...

well almost nothing !

We then joined friends Dennis and Angela for an after lunch coffee at a neighbour here in La Guerche, then it was over to listen to the 'concert' given by another of our neighbours over in Lesigny.

Then aperos in D&A's great courtyard before heading home to await the anticipated 'orage'.

It was captured well over in Le Grand Pressigny by our friend Alison.

Reaping the rewards...

We had a very good last night at the 'Fête Celtique' in Le Grand Pressigny which was due to the hard work of the peeps at 'Phoenix en Claise', the musicians and the dance 'callers' - winning a bottle of champagne also helped!

There was also a fabulous selection of delights to enjoy at the end of the evening, donated by local bakers

Monday's short walk and Jurassic 'Time Warping'.

Monday's walk took us up into the countryside behind  Le Grand Pressigny starting at 'Les Raguins'. It was a very hot morning but David managed to get us some shade on the route.

Early on on the track we passed by the site of this weekend's 'Jurassic Festival' which was being set  up to welcome the hoards of party goers expected.

We also passed this pretty 'longère' I won't post who its owner is but they are well known to many of the walkers.

During one of our customary water breaks Tim appeared to lead some of the ladies into the 'Time Warp' routine.

We stopped to admire a friend's property which is up for sale as they are returning to England - beautiful setting!

At one part of the walk the grass was a little high...

As tall as Tim actually!

As we were returning to our cars we got a different view of the site of the weekend's festival.
