Go Glasgow!

We met up with Paul and Mara on Monday for lunch in Glasgow. The city was looking well under a clear blue sky. As I have said before, like most cities, it is important to look up to appreciate the architecture both classic and modern,

This is the neo-classical rooftop statue 'Italia' created by Scottish sculptor Alexander Stoddart on a rooftop in the Italian Centre on Ingram Street in the 'Merchant City' area.

This is the view looking towards the famous equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington located outside the Gallery of Modern Art in Royal Exchange Square.

He has been joined by a Scottie dog, one of 40 giant sculptures which have been placed around the city to raise awareness of Maggie’s cancer charity. It has of course also been given the traffic cone treatment that was *once unique to Glasgow.

A good walk with friends...

It was good to catch up with friends Bert & Geraldine yesterday and share our local walk with them which included part of the costal path into the Cambusdoon Estate & Gardens and through the Alloway Tunnel Project.

Stepping out in Ayr...

On Monday we headed out on our now favourite walk with Eileen and Paul along the coast and over to Alloway to see the latest additions to the tunnel project and back along the high ground at Greenan Castle all in all we notched up 11.3 km (19k steps for Eileen) so a good walk.

Around Rozelle...

On our last outing with Ada here in Ayr we went over to Rozelle park to let her get some exercise and also take in the current art on display within its galleries. We started off with a walk around the pond near the entrance.

The pond currently is playing host a large family of swans parents plus 8 cygnets.

Ada enjoyed watching them being led into the lake one by one with varying degrees of waddling!

She was also tickled by the family of ducks who followed us for a time along the path.

We also visited some of the wicker characters around the grounds.

We also exposed her to the current art on display within the Maclaurin Gallery and encouraged her to develop a 'style' of her own...which we are sure she will.

Made a visit with Ada over to Belleisle park and gardens yesterday.
