Should we be concerned?

We arrived in Provence yesterday evening to a fine night and a lovely meal from Francoise, but as we looked up towards Mont Ventoux it has a spattering of snow - which reminded us of our horrendous drive home on an earlier trip, way back in 2013. There is a cold snap predicted but do not think it will be as bad as that year, at least we hope not!

Paging Azay-le-Rideau...

We enjoy visiting the lovely Azay-le-Rideau and not just for its chateau - on a bright sunny day the town itself is a delight to stroll around. I posted this image today on my blog for the region and realised, yet again, that although I have a page for the chateau on my website I still haven't included one for the town itself. I am writing this as a sign of commitment to do so!

Walking along the way of the rocks...

Yesterday's short walk took us out of Le Grand-Pressigny up along Route des Roches. The road along the rock face has a number of little troglodyte dwellings cut into the rock-face and over the years have been (and some still are) used for living in and for storage of some kind or another.

As part of the walk we were invited onto the property of friends where they have a major project of restoration of the main house on the site. Inside is being sympathetically restored to a high standard in what can only be described as 'a labour of love'.

We also got to view the caves from where the stone to build the house was sourced, adding to its provenance.

We then headed down onto the Le Petit-Pressigny road and back to the village.

Togetherness is...

Spring is just around the corner...well not too far away!

Spotted this little lone daffodil on our Thursday walk in the woods behind Barrou just letting us know!
