Last night's viewings...

After we returned from a visit to some friends in Barrou last night we were only in the house for about half an hour when we were suddenly plunged into darkness (8.00pm) courtesy of the second power cut in just over a week. The last one lasted for 3 hours so with this in mind we decided that watching the glow from the fire was not a great way to spend an evening, so we headed off to bed at 9.00pm.

How did people amuse themselves in the dark ages we mused?.

As it happens we remained in the dark for the next 12 hours + and we woke, very early, to darkness, so returned to bed to await some daylight.

We had some business to do in Le Grand-Pressigny so at the first sign of daylight we gathered ourselves together and headed off in search of our morning coffee fix.

It is only when something like this happens that you come to realise how important electricity is to our daily lives and how lost we are without it. How I admire folks who manage sustain themselves  off-grid, we would definitely struggle!
