On Saturday we headed up to the La Rond du Chene and did the marked 8km walk. It was a lovely day which made for a good walk starting with the long avenue through the woods.
You are then led on to a narrower bath into the woods...
part of it was running like a small stream which surprised us as we have had a long dry spell but we soon discovered the reason!
After a bit of mud trudging we were back on a dry footing fairly soon and up on to some open ground.
Then it was along a track that led us to our first sign of life, what seemed like a holiday waiting to be opened up for a new season.
From there a little grassy lane to us down to our first real road of the walk.
