A weekend of music and fun...

Our fun weekend started with the effervescent Locos Locaux at 'l'ère du temps' in Lésigny on Saturday night - always fun! We left at 10.00pm to head over to Ciran to take in the 'Spectacle' which had been planned for Friday night but the rain put us off. We had perfect conditions on the night and they obviously knew we had arrived as they greeted us with a blast of 'Flower of Scotland' before sending out Nessie to welcome us!

Love the way England is represented by the 'Full Monty' dance routine!

A great show as ever - if you haven't checked it out - you should!

Last night it was the turn of 'Celtiqua' to entertain us with an Irish music set at the Guinguette 'Le Lavoir' in Preyilly-sur-Claise in a weekend where we had a variety of music genres and venues choices throughout Southern Touraine.

They did not deserve this...

We were invited over to Ciran last night with Jane and Peter to friends who live in the village and host a delicious tea party, before taking in the spectacular 'Alors on Danse?' Due to weather conditions we were indoors as a safeguard but the rain held off. As we headed over to the 'plan d'eau' equipped with waterproofs and umbrellas our hearts went out to the organisers and participants - after a period of excessive temperatures and drought  they were rewarded with this!

We stayed as long as we could stand the heavy rain but it got too much for even us Scots...ironically the show had reached Scotland's contribution by the time the heavens really opened.

Even 'Nessie' made a hasty retreat!

They have a second performance tonight but the forecast is not looking good. How they are even going to get their costumes dry again is another thing...so unfair,as I said, they did not deserve this!

Another successful Ciran spectacular

We checked out this year's Ciran 'spectacular'  'Alors, on Danse' last night after having been entertained by some friends in the village and came away yet again full of admiration for the organisers who again excelled themselves with this, the first of a new production.

It was good to see a good turn out for the event

We were taken around the world...

which included a trip to Scotland...

and a visit from the Lochness Monster.

Definitely the highlight of the evening for us!

England was represented by a unique version of the 'Full Monty'

The night ended with the usual splendid fireworks display
