Summer planting at Descartes...

Pauline had a hairdresser appointment (something I don't need) last week in Descartes so I made another visit to the public gardens to see if the summer planting had begun, as when I led a walk there recently all the spring flowers had been lifted to make way for them.

I was a wee bit disappointed on the last visit as quite a few of the walkers were not familiar with the gardens and I wanted to show off this beautiful garden at its best. I would encourage them to make a return visit as they have done their usual excellent job of planting out.

Get out and smell the roses!...

You could visit the rose garden in the public gardens in Descartes which looked and smelt beautiful this morning.

A walk in the park? Monday's walk...

Not exactly, the walk I led yesterday's in Descartes had all the right ingredients, blue sky, riverside, lovely gardens, pleasant scenery and good company but at 24 deg, the weather was just a wee bit too hot but we boldly strode along taking advantage of some shade where we could.

It's days like theses that remind us to stop, 'Smell the Roses' slow down and take time to enjoy life.

A very cold Boxing Day walk...

We felt it was important to get out for a walk yesterday after overindulging on Christmas Day so we dragged Eileen and Paul (they actually came quietly) around the gardens at Descartes but with the temperature struggling to get up to 1 degree  we did not hang around long. All the animals in the small animal park had more sense and were all tucked up in their respective shelters.
