Italians know how to do churches...Nice cathedral

This Sunday I give you the Roman Catholic cathedral in Nice which we had to pop into while visiting the city last zeek. The main part of the current cathedral was started in 1650 and finished in 1685. Inside, with its Italian Baroque features,(Nice has only been part of France since 1860) is quite stunning!

'Auld yins' out and about in Nice...

Today we took the bus from Menton to Nice via Monoco for the princely sum of 1.50 euro each way, would have to say it is probably the best bus journey we have experienced - scenery to die for!

Nice didn't disappoint,we were dropped off at the harbour and had to walk by some outrageous cruisers (why do they need such big ones?) to get around to 'Promenade des Anglais'

We wandered into the market on Place Charles Felix and found a busy restaurant, always a good sign, where we had lunch under a warm sun.

Then it was back to visiting churches and trecking through  the narrow streets of the old part of the city...always fun!

A bit more sight-seeing and then we climbed up to the old chateau and took in more spectacular views, before heading back down to the harbour and our ride home.
