The 'Oh Jesus' bench...

As my posting of bench photos on twitter continues under the hashtag #MyFaveBench I remembered that I never did get around to posting about the 'Oh Jesus' bench when recounting an Issac Newton moment from the same garden.
Irish friends of ours have this bench around a tree in their garden just outside La Guerche. We were told it was called the 'Oh Jesus' tree, when we asked why, we were told that as the complicated design around the tree was being constructed by the men of the house the phrase was heard uttered on more than one occasion!

Benchmarking the delivery performance...

After the appropriate testing period my repaired bench needed delivering up to number 33. My friend and neighbour David said there was no need to use my trailer as it was light enough to deliver by bicycle and to prove the point...

...he did!

Benchmarking...my little project.

All the wood on this bench from 'Le Bourg' had rotted so it gave me another little project.

Fortunately I had enough suitable 'exotic' wood in my wood store of the right dimensions to replace the seating area and then bought and stained softwood for the back...job done...only needs delivered.
