More from Carcassonne...

On our second day in Carcassonne we decided to explore the 'new town' which was actually started in 1247. Crossing the old bridge 'Pont Vieux gives probably the best views of the medieval city.
We walked from the bridge through the 'La Bastide Saint-Louis' and all the way to the Canal de Midi.
We decided that we would come back to the 'Place Carnot' here for dinner in the evening and chose restaurant 'Le Longchamp'.
On our way back to the old city for lunch we stopped in to have a look in on the Musee des Beaux-Arts where there was an interesting exhibition 'The Future Now' by Philippe Shangti.
Glad we did!

More from our road-trip...Carcassonne

Part of our road-trip was taking in the medieval city of Carcassonne, somewhere that had been on our 'bucket list' for some time. Pauline picked our hotel which proved to be excellent choice with regards to its location - below is the view from the breakfasting room.

It was just a 10 minute walk up to the walled city

I would expect under 'normal' conditions the place would be very busy but due to the current situation it proved to be very quiet as we walked through its narrow streets.
