It took a while but got there in the end!

We have at last finished our 'sitooterie' behind the barn here at the 'Old Walnut Mill' with the second load of chips going down. It was always something that we worked on outwith our rental season and when we were not busy with other projects. Guests were happy just using the courtyard and we only passed by on our way to our small potager . 

The project has been a lesson in recycling,the steps were a gift from the guys who were digging up the road to put the electricity cables underground,the little wall from the stones that came from reducing the wall height, the door was a toilet door at 'Les Balcons'.the window was from 'Le Bourg' double glazing project,the wall planters old wall lights from our neighbour,the slates and timber are from a demolition job at the 'La Guerche' project.

When the chips are down...

 

First load of gravel went on redoing the paths around the back garden.

Wall done...

 

A change is as good as a rest...same scaffold different wall!

 

Have moved scaffold tower over to Barrou to finish a job started by the previous owner over 15 years ago behind the barn...began chipping out old clay mortar on Wednesday what fun! 

Meanwhile Pauline managed a bit of 'me time' over at Angela's for a 'cake and bake' afternoon with the ladies.
