More sister time...

 

They've arrived...

 

Picked up Pauline's sister Eileen and my sister Sally from Poitiers this morning. They arrived in typically Scottish weather but by the time lunchtime arrived we were able to take our first meal of their holiday alfresco!

With our 'sisters' in Paris...

We went over to join our American 'sisters' for a couple of days in Paris for the last stage of their visit to France. It was fun to be with them again and to show them some of the sites.

 

Sadly day one was the first of France's May bank holidays so almost all the attractions were closed so we went for a walk through some of the covered passages of the city plus checking out the progress on the restoration of Notre Dame with a couple of stops on the way. 

Day two saw us visit the the Picassao Museum and the Carnavalet Museum (museum of Paris) before taking in lunch on the Place des Vosges.

Sisters...

We left Ayr on Monday after a very comfortable stay with Pauline's sister Eileen who had very generously hosted the family over Christmas and New Year and put up with us as lodgers for what must have felt longer than the actual 3 weeks we were there! We headed over to Edinburgh to spend the last of our time in Scotland with Michael Rose and Ada - with a little detour on the way.

Lovely to have our friends from America back in Southern Touraine after a four year gap - haven't changed a bit!

A mammoth day out...

A good day out with the sisters yesterday which started of with a very pleasant walk in good company with our Monday walking group up behind Le Grand-Pressigny.

After a refreshment at the 'Pre-Histo' we then took Eileen, who,despite being here many times, up to look at the chateau for the first time and take in the great views of the village - very remiss of us!

After lunch we headed over to the chateau and gardens at Azay-le-Ferron for a bit more walking, or in this case strolling.

Finished the day off with a BBQ in the courtyard with the sisters enjoying a favourite 'Aperol' before continuing to put the world to rights into the night.
