2018 Sancerre road-trip part IV - over the river for a little Pouilly-Fumé

After our spot of wine-tasting at the cave of Henri Bourgeois we headed over to Claude Michot's cave over in the Puilly-sur-Loire area. This has become an annual pilgrimage for restocking  our cellar. This time we were met by the daughter who is following in her father Claude’s footsteps, Marielle Michot has been operating her own domain for a few years now and offering two Pouilly-Fumé vintages. Her 3 hectares of vines are situated around the municipality of Saint-Andelain. We had a taste and bought some of her father's wine then some of her own - which we also bought. She had no bottles that had gone through the labelling process so we watched as she did the process by hand!

I got her to sign one of the bottles and she added "100%  hand made" - one to keep perhaps?

  1. You should keep a bottle of something from last year until Ada is 18 or 21. C
