While in Rostrevor we took advantage of our spell of pleasant weather to do as much walking as possible with a walk along the coast to Warrenpoint (more on that later) plus the local walks around and in Kilbroney Park. The first walk was along 'Fairy Glen' just before you enter the park itself. A pleasant enough walk (but no fairies). first alongside the river then through field and forest before bringing you back into the park itself.
View from the park's cafe back towards the town itself.
The 'Narnia' trail starts and finishes within the park and is intended to bring to life the 'Chronicles of Narnia' for children visiting the park. It pays homage to the magical stories created within Cs Lewis’s imagination. The trail is entered, like the magical world of Narnia itself, through a ‘Wardrobe Door’, beyond which lies references to the Magical Land and it’s wonderful characters.
After finishing the trail we headed back down through the park and back up to town.
