A lovely day out at Château de L'Islette

On Sunday, courtesy of the Note à Note association of Le Grand Pressigny we joined a group of friends for an outing to the Château de L'Islette (near Azay le Rideau) to attend the 'L'Islette in Venetian Time' event where we were treated to two parades featuring over 70 Venetian costumes within the grounds of the chateau.

One member of our party caught up with some of the 'actors' who explained that their association members make all their own costumes, which are fabulous but must have been so hot on the day.
It was a lovely day for us and our friends, so well organised and the chateau and its ground easily absorbed the large crowd of visitors, which were a credit to the chateau owners and staff. I had a brief chat with the castle's Châtelaine who was very pleased with the turnout and how the day was going. She herself led the parade and as the afternoon concert started was keen to keep the tempo of the day in high spirits
