St. Patrick's Day celebration in Touraine.

 

Enjoyed last night's St. Patrick's Day celebration in the 'Prehisto Bar' in Le Grand-Pressigny. Good traditional music provided by David,Dave,Chris and  Geoff who kindly allowed me to contribute with a few songs...good fun.

Favourite time of year...

 

Love this time of year when with spring edging ever closer and new life appears all around us in the courtyard. Will miss this when house is eventually sold. Will not be too long until we are enjoy it in full bloom.

Stepping out with friends...at last.

Yesterday we headed over to La Roche-Posay to follow our friend Bob on only our third group randonnée of the year around the town.

He led us through part of the urban streets before heading back out of town over the road bridge and then along the river to climb up to the old railway bridge and back across the river.

Then it was, for us, a familiar route back via the thermal spa over the golf course and back to our cars.

First brocante and happy to be mixing!

Yesterday we headed over to the brocante at Coussay-les-Bois, not in search of any treasure but simply to get out again mixing with other people as we seem to have at last got rid of the virus that has curtailed us for the last four weeks.

In the small Eglise Saint-Martin there was an exhibition of bird 'photographs' that looked more like paintings - excellent works!

Big day for Scottish rugby...

After having beaten the 'Auld Enemy' the Scottish team have to raise their game today as they take on a formidable French team - we wish them well and pray for a wee bit of luck,we may just need it.

Could't join the randonnée group again today as this bug we have caught is still hanging over me and has made its way over to Pauline, so we did our walk to Barrou and back on our own instead. Good to see the blossom coming out letting us know spring is on its way.
