More walking...can you feel the burn

As we will not be able to make the randonne on Thursday we did one of the walks up behind the village last night. it was a beautiful (and hot) sunny evening so the little hill climbs were just that little bit harder.

We did the variation of the walk that brings us back via the little chemin that never fails to make us appreciate our surroundings as it ends by opening up the view along the Creuse valley

Sunday lunch, a treat and an education!

We enjoyed a great Sunday lunch over at a friend's just outside Preuilly-sur-Claise yesterday and also found out, among other things, that a fiddle and violin are exactly the same, who knew? (Pauline actually)!

Another good night in the grotto...

Pauline's fairy grotto has a new addition, which was saved from a trip to the dechetterie.

Another walk around the Lac de Saint Cyr...

Yesterday Liz organised another walk around the beautiful Lac de Saint Cyr over in the Vienne. We had done the walk at the beginning of last month  but it is a walk that you do not get tired of.

As on our previous visit, after our walk we headed up to 'La Table du Golf'  the golf club restaurant that overlooks the lake for a good lunch.

Another lovely night...another lovely soiree.

Another lovely evening last night in Pauline's fairy grotto that is the courtyard of the Old Walnut Mill.

First outing of the randonnée club season...

Yesterday saw the first outing of the new season of our local randonnée club. Joel took us up behind Courvaux and back on what was a very warm day.

Eileen at Montresor...

Eileen will finish her first week of self-isolation tomorrow having fallen foul of the UK's change of rules while she was over visiting us - hope she feels it was worth the sacrifice! We certainly enoyed having her stay as it gave us the chance to revisit some of our favourite places - like Montresor - where we did the village walk along the river, which is a delight!

Behind Barrou for Monday's short walk...

I took our Monday walking group (David is on a UK mission) up behind Barrou yesterday, up the hill (healthy start) into the woods then a bit of open countryside before heading back into the village for a good lunch at the restaurant.
Looking over to Lesigny...

and down to Barrou

You can just see the very private **'Chateau de Rocreuse', built in the second half of the 19th century by, the then, mayor of Maire, lording over us from the the Vienne side of the river Creuse.
Easier coming down,I'm sure they all agreed!

** Found great views of the chateau here - click on the image to get other views, very impressive, wonder how a local mayor financed this?
