When working on 'the project' I discovered this stone high up in the 'grenier' with what seems like a calculation scratched on to it.
Someone suggested it might be counting hay bales arriving in the grenier, but the writer must have been awfully tall or it has come from somewhere else! Why not just use paper?
Any ideas?
We have similar.... but by the loading doorways.... people's tally of how many sacks went up there. But this.... being on what looks like the gable end, could have been done by a roofer using the nearest bit of 'paper' to work out tile coverage, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteAll the numbers are similar so it could suggest bales i.e. numbers on trailer load. Who knows!
