Monday's short walk around Charnizay

On Monday Simon led us on a short walk around the village of Charnizay. We were blessed with a fine morning,if a little wet underfoot!

There was a moment of uncertainty when we appeared to have missed a turning which meant a debate about how to get ourselves back on the correct path.

It did not seem obvious but after an advance party was sent out (Simon & Pierre) it was decided that we had to tackle the jungle in front of us.

It was good to be back on Simon#'s planned route.

He took us up this stunning tree-lined driveway which deserved a chateau at the end of it but what we got was this manoir in need of a great deal of TLC.

This house has been given the attention that is needed and one had to admire its roof terrace.
Back to the village centre and a little history from Simon who informed me he had not in fact visited inside the church here - if he wants he can check it out here on my website
