A walk and a bench...and a lovely afternoon

Yesterday we went over to join our friend Karen for a walk into the countryside near her little 'hameau'.

We were blessed with a springlike afternoon, a warm sun and blue sky.

Even with the warm days we have been having we still encountered the results of some previous wet spells. This part of the walk was so bad we had to take an uncharted route through the woods before being able to return to drier land. 

I made a rather ungracious re-entry by tripping over a bramble bush onto the soft and wet ground as I led the way, fortunately out of sight of the ladies so managed to at least keep a little of my dignity intact. Old man down is not a pretty sight!

The return leg was all on dry land so making it a pleasant end to the walk.

On our return to 'La Raillere' Karen treated us to a wee refreshment sitting outside on her front terrace - it felt so much like spring, which now seemed even closer!
