Monday's walk - at La Guerche.

The walks around us here in La Guerche are all ups and downs as we sit in the valley of the river Creuse. Think we all prefer the downs!

Roger was sent ahead to check out the route.

Renewing 'Carte de séjour'.

Took this photo on our walk to Leugny on Friday the owner of the property said Santa insisted on being placed there as he needed a new photo for his 'Carte de séjour'.

What did the Romans ever do for us?

Yesterday we walked from here in La Guerche over to Leugny to join Dennis and Angela for lunch at 'L'Antre Nous'.
Although it's only an hour's walk, as we set out and looked towards our destination it felt a wee bit daunting.
Some friends will recognize this lovely property we passed on route.
Looking back towards La Guerche.Nearly there...

Parking shot !

It was the La Guerche to Barrou walk yesterday, nothing new to photograph but this caught my eye plus the reminder at halfway that we still have a wee bit to go.

Yesterday's walk in Pictures.

I did my first real walk of the year yesterday, Pauline had been out once doing her La Guerche to Barrou walk but this was our first walk together and we were blessed with a balmy 14 degrees.

Apparently yesterday was 'National Rubber Ducky Day'.

Any excuse for a get together and dressing up.

Pauline and Rodger doing a bit of ducking and diving.

I missed it as I was with Gerard & Danielle doing a wee concert at the retirement home in La Cell-Guenand.

A winter wonderland?

Stopped a few times on my way over to Le Grand-Pressigny yesterday to snap winter's effect on our surroundings...beautiful!

Mon banc dominical / My Sunday Bench - Chatellerault.

This bench by Joël Ducorroy is one of nine that can be found along a walk on the site (Le Manu) of the former arms factory in Chatellerault, local and international artists contributed to the creation of each one. Its nine plaques borrow words from the worlds of automobiles and manufacturing, quietly echoing the site. Placed beside a parking area (empty today), it nods to license plates and an obvious connection to the Grand Atelier and its collection of iconic vehicles.

Paul & Eileen's festive visit.

It was lovely having Paul and Eileen with us over the festive period where we all enjoyed our white Christmas. We also managed a few outings and walks despite the chilly weather.

On Christmas Eve we took in the stunning Christmas decorations at Chateau de Cheononceau, always a delight and they did not disappoint. We also stopped off at Amboise on the way home.

We woke up on the 25th to a lovely White Christmas and a managed a before dinner walk around the village.

We also squeezed in walks around La Roche Posay and Barrou and Descartes.
On the 30th we headed over to Loches for a lovely lunch a Le George followed by a walk around the town.
We toasted in the New Year at home in Le Guerche.
