On Sunday, on our way over to the monthly brocante at Montsoreau we stopped off at Candes-Saint-Martin, as although Dennis & Angela had driven through it a number of times they had not stopped. We took them up to the high ground behind the village to take in the view of the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne rivers.
After taking in the view we headed down the steep chemin back down to the village.
We were pleasantly surprised to find they were having a little fete - and as we arrived at the church there was a duo belting out their version of 'Have you ever seen the rain'
We took a walk through the narrow main street and returned to the car via the path that runs alongside the chateau.
One of our favourite views from up above Candes. Looks like there is plenty of water in the rivers.
