The ups and downs of living in France...

Pauline and I would normally choose to visit Loches on market days but because we had guests arriving at the Old Walnut Mill on Wednesday and we had some admin. to do that was date sensitive we headed up yesterday. As it happens the admin. aspect of the trip proved to be a waste of time. We tried to pay a bill over £300 euros with a cheque at the 'Treasor public' - we like to do these things face to face here in France - but only to find that a cheque over this amount is liable to a penalty(?) and and should only be paid on-line...ah France!

The compensation of course of these visits to our administrative centre is we get to enjoy the town and yesterday under an October blue sky it was looking resplendent! It was also an excuse to eat out - this time at 'L'Entracte' on Rue de Chateau.
