First alfresco lunch of the year for us here in La Guerche.

Joined by friends for Sunday lunch under a clear blue sky and a bulging climbing rose here in the courtyard of our house in La Guerche.

Second sitting...

On Tuesday evening we were having a meal with friends to welcome Mike and Liz back to France, I had set up the table in the courtyard for alfresco dining as the forecast was warm but cloudy. As our guests were arriving it began to pour rain and I watched as my table setting was washed out by the unexpected shower.

It was a passing black cloud that dropped its contents on us and as we learned later, it seems that this was happening all around us. After the rain stopped I dried off the table and chairs, with help from Dennis and as the sky returned to blue we reset the table to continue the evening.

The rain stayed off long enough for us to enjoy our evening but storm clouds were gathering and thunder and lighting began which signalled time to move indoors which was a shame as we did not get the enjoy the late ambiance of the courtyard.

Have a good weekend everyone...we've had a good start!

Had probably our last alfresco dinner of the season last night here at the Old Walnut Mill  to welcome neighbours who have only just managed to get over to their holiday home here in Barrou. After a lovely sunny day the temperature took a drop as the evening progressed but it did not affect the ambiance of the evening with good friends.

From garden to table...

Yesterday's pickings from our garden here at the Old Walnut Mill which Pauline used to make a lovely meal at a dinner for 'reuniting' friends last night in the courtyard and so begins another full weekend of socializing...and we wonder why the pounds are going back on!

Alfresco in February...

Popped over to see our friend Dave just outside Chaumussay yesterday after working in the courtyard of the 'Old Walnut Mill'. We sat out on his new 'sitooterie', it used to be where his caravan, which was his and Hillary's first 'home' here in France, used to sit. Beautiful sunny afternoon finished of with aperos...lovely end to the day.

Pics. taken just as the sun was going down.
