Our second visit on Sunday was a return to the village of Vicq-sur-Gartempe and to the delightful 'La Villa-des-Iles' where we visited last year.We returned as Liz and Mike had not been there.
This year it was playing host to 'Authors of Poitou-Charentes', though it was a little lost on us.
We had a little refreshment while we were in the garden and a few verses of 'Old MacDonald' from the happy lady who served us -honest!
We did Chateau de Chambon [actually just one third!] and La Guerche... but where did you get the information about things on "the other bank" so to speak... and cusses on you for now making me think of Mr. Mackintosh all day!! Great designer... love his work... just need to win the lottery... perhaps last night?
What was that like? - thought it was just a farm now, though have noticed bit of activity there recently. We get our info on Viennne from tourist office in La Roche Posay. We both love CRM's work.Have the dining room set over here withus but so far haven't found the space for it, though working on it!
We've often wondered. One year we will be able to be in France to enjoy visiting this kind of place, too!
ReplyDeleteProblem is there is so much choice - though we are working our way through the 'local' places first.
