If you plan a future walk around the village of Chambon following our recent blog you should complete you day with a visit to its restaurant 'Le Vieux Fournil'
Last year saw it getting a very tasteful make-over...
and you won't be disappointed with the local fare on offer.
They offer a 12 euro 'Menu du Marche' at lunch times.
They also have a 23 euro, 30 euro menu plus a separate 'A la Carte' menu.
They are closed on Wednesdays and Sunday evenings.
The food is pretty good... yet to try the Menu du Marché... but when we visited as someone else's guests it looked very nice. I wish Grand Ma would do that... we'd go more often!
ReplyDeleteThe WV came uf as "tedgemic nishins" which I think need to be slow cooked on account of a certain toughness in the flesh...
We have eaten there several times sometimes having the menu du marché, sometimes treating ourselves to the other menus. It has always been good. Usefully, it is also one of the few restaurants in the area which is open on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteMy only complaint is that from the table where we usually get seated you hear a lot of noise from the kitchen, the dishwasher and occasional crashing of plates and cutlery, which can be slightly alarming.
But it's good to have such a nice restaurant within striking distance of chez nous and, as Tim says, an alternative to Grandma's.
